[...] Paragraph quoted aqnd responded to on the broadcast: As for the argument that the church couldn’t have been wrong about eschatology for about 2,00 years (or more accurately, about 1,800 years), Gentry is yet again using a Roman Catholic argument. How could the Reformers have been correct about “forensic justification by faith alone” when the post-apostolic church NEVER taught that doctrine until about the year 1500? According to Gentry’s fallacious reasoning, Reformed Theology must be an unbibical and damnable heresy. Gentry’s argument (”Hyper-preterism” is new in church history. Therefore it is false.) brings the Reformation down like a house of cards. “Forensic justification by faith alone” was just as “new” in the 1500’s as “hyper-preterism” was “new” in the 1800’s. David Green, co-author of the hyperpreterist book House Divided. Source: http://fullpreterism.com/davidgreen/kenneth-gentry-eck-redivivus/ [...]

Yeah...What he said. 8)

From some of Gentry's work you could almost conclude that he's a deep undercover full preterist. Unless he's speaking specifically against FP you wouldn't know he wasn't.

The reason the futurist leaders keep using the same old tired argument is that people believe it. It is also true, that it is only loyalty to 1800 years of church history that keeps one from making the "leap" from partial to full preterism. Exegetically scripture leads to full preterism so some road block must be put in the way of scripture to keep people from recognizing the truth. It is sad to see Gentry making the same tired arguments as the less educated and experienced critics of preterism though. I know like other preterists I have begged to be proven wrong from scripture. Being a preterist is not easy in this climate! But I must hold true to God's word.
